Solar gates have their own failure mode: the battery loses capacity after 2–3 years of Florida heat, and the gate will work fine in the afternoon but die overnight. If your gate dies after sundown, the battery is the suspect, not the motor.
The Photo Eyes Are Lying to the Gate
Photo eyes (the small lenses at gate level) are the #1 reason a gate refuses to open or open-then-reverses.
